International Students
Since yearly 1990s Nizhny Novgorod technical university by R.E.Alexeev has been accepting overseas students. Later in 2007 it set up a Center of foreign students' education which also runs preparatory courses for overseas students. University entrants enjoy an intensive course of the Russian language as well as brief introductory classes in mathematics and physics, both running for one academic year. Admission to the university is based on an applicant's academic success at the graduate exams which he takes at the end of the preparatory courses.
First-year international students study in small-size groups on their own individual curriculums. From the second year students enjoy studies with russian students in mixed groups. Classes in Russian are provided all through their staying with the university.

The most preferred specialties for international students are listed in the table.
