 The
speciality, which is a new one in Nizhny Novgorod, embraces the latest technologies
in the field of wired and wireless communications networks. The experts
trained in the speciality possess a wide range of knowledge and skills
in different areas, from the basic principles of the theory of electrical
circuits and digital signal processing to designing local and wide area
computer networks. During
the period of studies, the students are trained in designing wired telephone
and telegraph networks, radio-relay, fiber and satellite communications
channels, cellular and paging systems. A set of laboratories equipped
with modern telecommunications equipment including the equipment transferred
to the University by Harris Corporation (USA) was set up to train experts
in the speciality. The majority of teachers and engineers of the chair
were on training in the USA, they also participated in development of the
latest telecommunications technologies. |
