About the Department The military training is organized and carried out in accordance with the Decree of Government of Russian Federation No.1255 from November 14th 1999 and No.688 from October 22nd 2000 "On training of citizens of Russian Federation according to Retired Officers Programs of Training at the Reserve Officer Training Departments" and with the Joint Order of the Minister of Defense and Minister of Education of Russian Federation. The Faculty provides training of reserve officers in several naval professions. More than one thousand students attend the lectures at the Faculty. Having finished the 5th year the graduates of the FMT have the training period of 30 days at the major tactical formation of ships and submarines of the Northern Fleet of Russian Navy upon which they take State examinations in military training.

There work 38 lecturers at the 4 Naval Departments and at the Department of the Training Equipment. The teaching staff of the Faculty of Military Training consists of qualified instructor officers possessing large experience of naval service.

The areas allocated for the Faculty and all its training facilities in general provide the high-grade training in all professions. The level of educational work corresponds to the existing requirements. The internal code of conduct is kept to.

Within 75 years of its history many prominent people having been and are the Russian elite have gone through the military training at the Faculty of Military Training. All of them have participated in the Reserve Officers' Training Program. Just at that Faculty the future rulers of Russia have had the opportunity to understand the principles of military schooling, comprehend the defensive needs of the native country and cultivate the understanding of military duty, its significance for the society and that it is very important that training at the Faculty becomes almost the only period in life for many people when they can get acquainted more or less substantially with the one of the most important state institutions.
