Dates of NSTU History Geographical Background Geographical Background NSTU Location on the city plan of the Nizhny Novgorod Main buildings of the univercity are located in the historic center of Nizhny Novgorod, of the eldest and most beautiful russian cities, founded in 1221 at the confluence of two great rivers, the Volga and the Oka. The University is situated in the beautiful part of Nizhny Novgorod - on the Verhne-Volzhskaya Naberezhnaya, where you can be pleased with a wonderful view of river Volga and its pictorial low bank. In ten minutes' walk from the University the Nizny Novgorod Kremlin is situated, an ancient fortress whose walls fostered our city that grew up to be one of the biggest cultural, trade and industrial centres of Russia. Not far from the University are the Drama Theater and the Opera House, "TUZ" (Children's theater), Comedy Theater, Museum of Arts and Local History Museum, exhibition and philharmonic halls. You can get to any NSTU educational building by municipal transport from any district of the city: NSTU main building adress: 24, ul.
