The University performs educational activities in the general secondary education, basic vocational education, secondary vocational education, higher and postgraduate vocational education in compliance with the License and the Letter of state accreditation.
There is a military training faculty at NSTU (FVO). At the faculty the students get the second profession of military engineer.
The main educational programs of the higher vocational education are divided in permanent (for part-time (evening) and correspondence training) and degree programs for full-time education.
Another form of education is also developing at NSTU - the Distant learning.
In the field of the higher vocational education the University trains Bachelors of 27 professions, graduate specialists (engineers) of 66 professions, Masters in 22 Master degree programs. The training period of the programs of the higher vocational education is:
for Bachelor degree - not less than four years;
for graduate specialist (engineer) degree - not less than five years;
for Master degree - not less than six years.
The Bachelors can hold the positions requiring higher vocational education in production departments, operation departments, in organization activities, management and marketing.
The graduate specialists (engineers) are capable for holding positions requiring higher vocational education in design and testing of the new models of engines and installations, development and implementation of new materials and technologies, analysis and search for the promising trends of development of engineering and production.
The students successfully completed the military training curriculum at the military training faculty are conferred the military rank of reserve officer and they can join the army on terms of the contract enlisted service.
The specialists with a Master degree can hold the positions in education and research institutions.
The University possesses the advanced system of the pre-university training of enrollees comprising:
physico-mathematical school, chemical engineering school, electrochemical school;
full-time and correspondence preliminary courses;
preliminary training department;
secondary schools with the emphasis on engineering subjects, engineering vocational school (lyceum) and upper secondary engineering school.
